S.P. Charan is an Indian playback singer. He was born on 7 January 1972 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the grandson of S.P. Sambamurthy (Harikatha Artist) and Sakunthalamma. He is the son of Late S.P. Balasubrahmanyam (singer and Actor) and Savithri Balasubrahmanyam. He has a sister is Pallavi. He was married to his first wife Smitha in 1998 and after his divorce, he was married to his second wife Aparna in 2012.
In 1996, He started his singing career. He is a well-known South Indian actor. He is acted in many languages like “Hudugigagi” (2003), “Saroja” (2008), “Vanavarayan Vallavarayan” (2014), “Vizhithiru” (2017). He has also appeared in a few T.V. serials like “Annamalai” (2002), “Nenjathai Khellaade” (2014), and “Super Singer Junior 6” as a Judge (2018).
He worked as an anchor in a TV show “Ilala Gnanam” for a Sri Lakhan Television Firm. On 7 January 2002, he started his own film production company “Capital Film Works”.
He has been awarded the “Swarna Kamal” at 59th National Film Awards for Best Producer of the Film for Tamil film “Aaranya Kaandam” in 2011.
